Course Overview

The B.Sc. in Optometry program at MTIMS is a comprehensive undergraduate course designed to prepare students as qualified eye-care professionals. This program provides in-depth knowledge of eye anatomy, vision science, optics, ocular diseases, and advanced diagnostic techniques.

Students receive practical training in performing eye examinations, prescribing corrective lenses, detecting vision problems, managing refractive errors, and assisting in clinical procedures related to eye health. The curriculum also covers low-vision care, contact lens fitting, binocular vision, and community eye care services.

Through clinical postings and hands-on experience, students gain the confidence to work in real healthcare environments. After graduation, they can build careers as Optometrists, Vision Care Specialists, Contact Lens Practitioners, Clinical Optometrists, or pursue higher studies and research in optometry.

Eligibility

Candidates should have separate minimum pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology put together
